Castellammare di Stabia
Castellammare di Stabia is nestled right by the sea, featuring nearly four kilometers of coastline with a pedestrian path of about 2.6 km running between the promenade and the public gardens (villa comunale). It spans an area of 17.81 km² and has a population of nearly 62,000 inhabitants.
The city is situated in a basin within the Gulf of Naples, between Mount Faito and the mouth of the Sarno River. Thanks to its fortunate geographical position (between Naples, the Sorrento peninsula, and the islands of Capri and Ischia), it boasts two tourist harbors: Stabia Main Port and Marina di Stabia. Also known as the "city of waters" due to the presence of as many as 28 springs, it was a prominent spa and thermal center for decades. Its gastronomic products are widely known and appreciated, most notably the traditional biscotti di Castellammare.
